The DeVino family winery is a small winery from Znojmo, founded by Richard and Kateřina Šemík.
We have been fully dedicated to our wine-making, all the work from grape harvesting to bottling is done by ourselves, manually. Our philosophy from the beginning is to produce the best quality bottled wines. The current production is around 15,000 bottles per year.
We make our oranges wines using the Georgian qvevri traditional method.
The Qvevri is an egg-shaped earthenware vessel used for making, aging and storing the wine. The wine-making process involves pressing the grapes and then pouring the juice, grape skins, stalks and pips into the Qvevri, which is sealed and buried in the ground so that the wine can ferment for five to six months before being drunk.
We are one of the first producers of Pet-Natu (natural semi-sparkling wine primarily fermented in a bottle) in Moravia. In the cellar, the first classic sparkling wines are fermented in bottles by the champagne method.
